Elena's on Orange: Reviews & Ratings
The best spot for soft serve. Super busy but the line moves quickly. I recommend Elena's favorite dipped chocolate cone with sea salt. The seasonal flavors change weekly they're so unique and tasty! Check this place out!!
We are visiting my Daughter who goes to Yale University. Elena’s on Orange is a 10 minute walk from her apartment. She’s persuasive that we try Elena’s Ice Cream before we leave, she’s so right that it is delicious. It is not too creamy, I love the little roughness of the ice cream as I scraped through it and most of all the sugar is just right. I ordered their Rocky Road and it was heavenly. I was the first one to finished and I made sure I scraped it to the bottom. That is Elena’s Ice cream to me.
Might be the best soft serve i’ve ever had!! I love their weekly specials and appreciate them trying out new flavor combos!! The first picture is their seasonal sundae (sweet basil soft aerve w/ olive oil, fresh strawberries, and lemon zest!) and the second picture is their hojicha soft serve with their black sesame whipped cream, oreo pieces, and their homemade strawberry sauce (delicious!!). Their flavors are amazing with a perfect balances of creaminess with their unique flavor palettes. A lot of Yale students+faculty (and the new haven community) come here and for a good reason! This is a New Haven Gem for sure :)
Soft serve was ok. Flavors available at the time: vanilla, chocolate, and the seasonal flavor of raspberry (if I remember correctly). The raspberry was very delicate, slight. I had a Whitney sundae: soft serve, pecans, hot fudge and a cherry. The staff was nice and the area had several tables inside and out. Overall, a good but not extraordinary, experience.
First time here. Not your typical ice cream place - only have vanilla, chocolate, twist & a flavor of the wk, but they make great sundaes. My sundae has espresso, sea salt, mini chocolate chips & whipped cream. My husband has the special of the week - pistachio ice cream in a sundae. Both were delicious.
Worth the hype and wait. I went Saturday night and there was a long line out the door (maybe 20 minute wait). You can taste the quality in their ingredients. For soft serve, it is extremely creamy and rich. A friend who has gone a lot recommends the season rotating sundae special flavors because although the vanilla and chocolate are good, they are more basic. Fun to try the seasonal flavors. I got the Campfire s'mores sundae and it was fantastic. Ice cream really did taste like graham crackers and the marshmallow fluff was super good. Easily can be shared with someone.
I don’t even like ice cream that much but Elena’s soft serve is soooooo good. 5/5! The seasonal carrot cake is amazing I had to go back for it twice.
